Speeding cost Essay Example for Free
Speeding cost Essay I will never ever speed again. Speeding cost way too much time and aggravation to continue speeding. This ticket has made me realize that all speeding does is put me and other people in danger and waste a lot of gas. And in these economic times wasting gas isnââ¬â¢t the best idea. I can drive 55 in a 55. Statistics show that if the speed limit is 65 and you go 75 it will get you to your destination 10 minutes faster but you also increase your risk of accident by 25%. Honestly I donââ¬â¢t want to risk an accident over 10 minutes of time. Itââ¬â¢s pointless. And I have learned my lesson from speeding in excess over the speed limit. This will never happen again Judge When you speed, you have less time to react to unexpected situations. Other drivers have less time to react to your situation. With that being said, you can easily harm someone or yourself if not kill them by not watching your surroundings. Because like stated before, you not only have little time to react at the normal speed of traffic, but now you are speeding which takes away from the normal time, in return gives you minimal to no time to react at all. Cars are not really designed for high speed even though they are capable. Braking systems are not designed for stops form high speeds. They can overheat and fail in an emergency stop, therefor the ââ¬Å"perfect breaksâ⬠I thought I had are completely useless. Which means the poor person in front of me is probably fixing too suffer because I had too speed. In cases as concerned as running into the back of someone. I have heard of people getting paralyzed by careless driving mistakes such as speeding and missing a stop sign.

Why Build Solar? Essay -- Essays Papers
Why Build Solar? The question is, ââ¬Å"why utilize the solar energy for our homes that is given from an existing power source for free?â⬠A simple answer could be because the source of power in the long run is for free. The truth to the statement is nothing is for free because taking advantage of the sun does require some effort, but there certainly isnââ¬â¢t as much effort compared to the energy sources that we use today. More importantly there arenââ¬â¢t any severe consequences left for the environment during the process. The more learning and the more realization of how fast the quality of life is depreciating environmentally conscious citizens look to others observing ignorance for failing to come to the same standards of view. Utilization of solar energy can be very inexpensive, making several techniques feasible for todayââ¬â¢s homeowner. The problem is the majority of the worlds population donââ¬â¢t see the benefit to the environment on themselves. Throughout history the sun has been a utilized asset to civilization. The Greek have spread their building far enough apart facing south to utilize the sunââ¬â¢s heat, accepting the sun through large entries of the villas. They even used transparent windows to decrease the rate of solar escape. During the 1500ââ¬â¢s the Dutch used canvas and double-pane glass to further contain the heat. In the early 19th century they used green houses to capture heat as they opened up vents to warm the main house. Other forms of solar transfer were becoming more prominent, evaporation contained and used as a water pump. Minds were heavily looking into further use of the suns power. Leaps were taking when Walker showed how a solar water heater could be connected to an auxiliary heat source. To further add ... .... Close the shades of your home to help prevent the heat from escaping. Plant deciduous trees where the sun shines the most on your home. If building a home, face it south to receive the sun the most. These methods have some how been avoided for some time. It truly is unfortunate that the only way there will be a change in the use of energy is because oil prices are exploding, oil supply is diminishing, and most likely economics will eventually create the change because solar will be cheap. The future is efficiency because the world doesnââ¬â¢t have a choice or weââ¬â¢ll be consumed by or own pollution. The climate change and greenhouse gases are pointing towards an environmentally safe use of energy. Insulation will become more technologically sound. Windows currently are expensive but strongly efficient. The world has no choice if it intends on to stay living.

Intercultural Communication Essay
Comparison of the light that Catholicism was held in a century ago and its close correlation to the current treatment of Islam as a threat to the US is an important lesson learned from ââ¬ËIslam in Americaââ¬â¢. The close correlation and its replication in history considering that Islam is trying to expand in the US is an eye opener that makes one reconsider his position on the role played by Islam in terrorism and other vices that have been labeled as being closely related to the Islam faith. Another lesson that has been brought out by the article is the fact that more Arabs are Christians. Muslims, Arabs and injustice against America have in recent time been portrayed as being one and the same. Reading the article develops a clear collaboration between what can be considered wayward Islam and Arab Christianity in engaging in acts that are subversive for either Koran or bible dictates. The extreme differences that exist between different Islam groups are also brought out. To any one outside Islam the differences that exists in beliefs thus actions of Muslims and the development that have happened within Islam cannot be developed without having access to such eye opening information. Ida B. Wells, what a woman she was! Surprisingly I had never had of her existence even under black history catalogues. It is amazing how the influence of Wells was inspirational to the development of a number of organizations and uprisings that championed for equality yet her contribution has not even been documented by many writers and literatures. Another lesson from reading the article on her contribution to the liberation of African Americans is that President Lincoln actually placed an ultimatum for southerners to surrender or else lose their slaves. This version of American history is a realization of events within history that have carefully been concealed from the current generation to hide the dismay and inhumanity that past leaders currently held in awe as being great founders of America were involved in. Why is understanding history Important? Understanding the history behind a culture is important in developing a clear picture of events in the current society. Culture is considered a development from history that unluckily is in varied versions (Martin, & Nakayama, 2007); having a deeper understanding of experiences that define a community is thus important in objectively analyzing the different versions and coming up with a personal image. Moreover, without seeking an understanding of history the systems that have been placed to hide the truth may negatively affect oneââ¬â¢s perception of events without and within his community (Martin, & Nakayama, 2007). Without understanding the differences that led to the development of different Muslim sects and the fact that they are of different ideologies one may be affected by the negative image that has been created by the media of Islam and terrorism. Without understanding the fact that America has historically been repulsive to entry of new religion one may be duped into believing that controversies surrounding Islam in the current society are a new development in American history. Abraham Lincoln and other great have had considerable effects on the current image of America. Realization that such a great could have made an absurd statement like ââ¬Ë surrender now or lose your slavesââ¬â¢ develops an appreciation of the fact that American leaders have had flaws and are not as perfect as modern literature portrays them to be. Appreciation of the role played by individuals whose names are not imprinted in American history or even black history in development that have been attained by African American is developed by Ida Wellsââ¬â¢ biography. This develops an appreciation of the effects that individual can have on communities and even generations. Role in Competent Multicultural Communication Perception greatly affects the levels of efficiency that can be attained in human communication. Irrespective of the diversity that has been developed by forces of globalization the history of an individual whether formal or informal will always affect the perception he develops of others (Martin, & Nakayama, 2007). A multicultural communicator must be aware of his culture and the effects that it has on his cognition and othersââ¬â¢ to ensure effective communication. An understanding of the differences that exist between cultures and therefore values is important in prior determination of areas of conflict in any given communication. Such information or knowledge is vital in addressing conflict areas in the best way possible. Management of conflicts that are inherent of communication between two communicating parties is affected by appreciation of their perception of each other. Addressing myths like it was the case in demystifying the role played by lynching in reducing African Americansââ¬â¢ role in raping white women and developing a clear difference that exists between Arabs ad Muslims is important in dealing with the negative effect that such have on intercultural communication. Language is part of a culture and unless intercultural communicators are appreciative of the differences in culture thus history has on perception (Martin, & Nakayama, 2007), conflicts in communication and even derivation of meaning that is core to communication becomes constrained.

Ku Klux Kl A Barbaric Crusade - 864 Words
Ku Klux Klan: A Barbaric Crusade One must feel lucky to be born in the United States during this time period. Before the 1990ââ¬â¢s, there were a lot going on, from the Revolutionary War to the Vietnam War. None of these would have happened, if either side were not rebellious. However, one incident, which changed the topic of discrimination in America, was the Ku Klux Klanââ¬â¢s activities which ranged from kidnapping to lynching. Despite the fact that Ku Klux Klan was founded by Christians, the same organization ironically targeted Christians of another sect, though their primary focus, was on African-Americans. Since the late 19th century, the Ku Klux Klan had represented the most dreadful examples of inhumanity. From kidnapping to lynching, the Ku Klux Klan had exacerbated the society due to their racism towards African-Americans. During the Ku Klux Klanââ¬â¢s early days, they had already started targeting many, which were based on political issues. Since the Ku Klux Klan was a Democratic organization, t hey targeted the opposition parties (Smith). Besides politics, Ku Klux Klan were racists too. Their disappointment in the increase in the population of African-Americans, made them ââ¬Å"[seek] the restoration of white supremacy through intimidation and violence aimed at the newly enfranchised black freemenâ⬠(Ku Klux Klan). The Ku Klux Klanââ¬â¢s activities are indeed inhumane, because one cannot harm others just because of their race. Fortunately for the outsiders, the Klan groups were
